These are proven methods! no doubt if u execute them properly, u can succeed in getting traffic!

Please keep in mind that the numbers given to the methods as just serial numbers and are not to be considered as ranks! Each method has got its own significance and the success depends on how properly u have implemented these methods. Some methods can work great for some kinds of sites and for some they may not as expected.
Choose the appropriate methods so that your time is not wasted!
1) Track your results Observe this example I have purchased an add in an x Ezine for 30$ and got some traffic as a result. With the conversion in the traffic I earned 50$, similarly I have purchased ads from y Ezine for 30$ and earned 70$. That is 20$ more from the traffic that I got from Y Ezine. So I have to consider increasing the purchases in the Y Ezine. But remember u have to track and research the results for some multiple number of times. For the first time the X Ezine may give u less traffic but second time it may give better results. So analyze properly while taking decisions. If u are running PPC ad campaign on your site like adsense or bidvertiser or etc campaigns, u need to track your results! Especially ad placement in the site, u need to know which ads on your site are getting the best user attention so that u can concentrate on improvements. 2) Add unique and high quality content If your site as got unique and high quality content, your site can last for a long time on the internet. U can get repeated vistors as well. Provide LOTS of information-rich, keyword-rich, useful content for the search engines and humans to find. Actually this is the most important tip but sadly, it's one which many website owners ignore. Recently I came accross a website which is giving away FREE articles every day(On quite a number of themes). U can make use of these articles to your website. U only need to give your name and email id so that they can send 5 articles every day.

3) Keep on updating your website/blog I have observed many websites and blogs which are just left like that without any updations, just they are left useless. Since they are useless, no one would visit those sites or blogs and hence useless for the web master too. According to Google, about half the 2.5 billion searches done a day at Google are for unique, one-off phrases. Search engines love fresh content, so keep this in mind. Add at least one article per week but if u can, go for 2 articles per week.
4) Make your domain name easy to read Observe the following domain names

www.treasurehunt.info or www.TreasureHunt.info
The use of capital letters made the domain names look easier to read. Where ever or when ever u mention your domain name use capital letters at the start of each word. ALWAYS present it in its most readable form.
5) Do extensive keyword research If u want to get lots of traffic from search engines then you need to do keyword research. U need to find what people are trying to find out- I mean u need to find what people are typing in to the search engine to retrieve the information which your site is providing. There are many tools available to help the web masters which are free, but paid ones give more accurate results for your keywords and help you to get the best. 6) Search Engine Optimization(SEO) If I have to start writing about the SEO, it takes several pages and there would be no end. So I will write some articles and include them here on the site, please visit the site to read them. Here is a quick summery.....
-- You need to make it easy for a search engine to figure out the topic of your page.
-- Find appropriate keywords and use them in the titles, page headings, throughout the articles, meta descriptions, alt tags, etc
-- Inside the articles try to mention the keywords in bold, the search will identify the words in bold and consider them as keywords. This is one of the techniques that most SEO professionals use to maximize their traffic.
U have to keep in mind that only SEO techniques can get u massive traffic that has high conversion rates. There may be several techniques that drive tons of traffic to your site/blog but may not make huge money as search engine traffic does. 100 sales out of 10,000 visits may be better than 50 sales out of 1,00,000 visits. The traffic that cannot make any conversions is mere waste. So go for the better ones and save your time. Implement SEO techniques on your website/blog. 7) Article Distribution This is another way of getting targeted traffic. Prepare an article related to your site content which should be brief and submit it to article directories. When u submit to directories u can include a link to your site, some thing that states like this- "click here for more information", etc. This will improve your link popularity as well. Some article directories provide free service and for some directories u need to pay money. The article that u want to submit should be able to drag the interest of the user, so that he clicks on your website link and visit your page to read the rest or the detailed article.
